LASER and Drone Awareness for the General Public

Presentation for the  Arizona Department of Transportation Safety Stand-down Day

ASAG's Own From the Flight Deck Video

We wish to thank all of the member's of ASAG that have volunteered their time and aircraft to make these safety videos.  We also want to thank Jeffrey Tripp, the Cottonwood Airport Manager, for his support and input, the Scottsdale FSDO FAA Safety Team, and the FAA Western Region Runway Safety Office for supporting our endeavors.  Our videos are just one resource pilots should reference "to know before you go," to supplement their preflight preparations in accordance with FAA regulations.

ASAG's own from the flight deck videos

The FAA's  From the Flight Deck Video series covers Towered Airports throughout the country.  ASAG is working on presenting non-towered and airspace issues we feel are important for all pilots.  Know before you go.

ASAG's own from the flight deck videos

Sedona is Arizona's number two tourist destination and the scenic beauty draws many unsuspecting pilots to an airport that has many safety challenges.  Know before you go.

Non-towered airports: In control or out of control?

FAA Safety Team Representatives Dr. Brian Stamper, Lee Unger, and Dr. Sarah Nilsson have put together this great video after a near mid-air event at Marana that was almost tragic.

STOP LASER STRIKES AND UAS NEAR MISSES

Jason.Thompson@phoenix.gov

Officer Jason Thompson from the PHX Air Support Unit and Deputy Scott Woodworth from the Pima County Sheriff  asks anyone experiencing a LASER illumination or a UAS near-miss event anywhere within the state to email him with the details.  Don't forget to notify ATC immediately of your encounter.   You can also report the incident to the FAA by clicking on the Find Out More button to the right.
